Common question from new BFF learners

Friend, the problem is not your ability to search. The problem is the lack of a system. Article curation is tool-driven. When the setup is right, the weekly search can take 20 minutes. Today we will build that system together.

The wrong question vs the right question

Wrong question: "Where should I look for articles?"

Better question: "What feed-based system can bring 50 articles a week into my inbox, and how will I choose the best five?"

The warning about "too much research"

Don't read every article

Curation is selection, not consumption. Skim the headline and first paragraph. If it takes too long to judge, it is not a keeper. 20 minutes total per week, not 20 minutes per article.

Practice. Setup curation stack. 30 min.

  1. Pick a niche. (Real or hypothetical client.)
  2. Sign up at Feedly. Subscribe to 20 sources in niche.
  3. Install Pocket Chrome extension.
  4. Setup 5 Google Alerts. Niche keywords.
  5. Run 1 weekly cycle. 20 min. Document the top 5 in Google Doc.
