Let's look at your profile. The first step to get a home-based job is to create a profile that clients will never reject. Having an account is not enough. Your profile needs to match the employer's filters. Focus on the details clients actually click and evaluate.

The wrong question vs the right question

Wrong question: "Which category should I choose?"

Better question: "What impression will my profile give in the first 5 seconds of a client's view?"

OnlineJobs.ph is a PH-native job platform. The "OnlineJobs" tab in the BFF Job List usually has 5+ live listings on any given day. But if your profile is incomplete, employers will not find you in search. Today we will finish the 9-section profile build.

Self-rated. Honest about it. 3 stars is better than a false 5 stars.
Last login date
Active in last 7 days = answered quickly. Inactive = passed over.
Test scores

"Will work 9pm-5am Manila for US client" is signal. Surface explicitly.
The honest moment

Common pattern: a beginner OnlineJobs.ph profile with no photo, no specific skill summary, generic resume. Zero replies for 2 months. Once all 9 sections get fixed, views climb and a first interview lands within ~3 weeks.

The warning especially for Fresh Starters

The "premium profile" pressure

OnlineJobs.ph has free and paid plans. The free plan is enough for applying. Paid plans are mostly for the employer side, not candidates. If you see an "upgrade to premium" prompt, ignore it for v1. Think about upgrading only after you have your first client.

Other warning: do not pay anyone to setup your OnlineJobs.ph profile. Some scammers say, "I'll get you a job for ₱5,000." That's not how this works. BFF is free. OnlineJobs setup is free. You should not pay anyone for this.

  1. Sign up at OnlineJobs.ph using the professional Gmail from Lesson 02.
  2. Upload profile photo. Plain background. Recent (within 1 year). Cropped to face + shoulders.
  3. Write 3-line skill summary. Use format: "[Specialty] with [N] years [context]. [Tools]. [Availability]."
  4. Pick 4-8 skills. From BFF Resume Builder Step 2. Skills rated Confident+ qualify.
  5. Upload resume PDF. Export from Resume Builder. Single column, ATS-friendly.
  6. Set salary expectation. Range. Specific. Per Lesson 07, your path determines floor.
  7. Take 3 aptitude tests. English + your target specialty + 1 transferable skill.
  8. Upload ID for verification. Government-issued PH ID. Wait 24-48 hrs for badge.
  9. Mark availability: "Full Time" or "Part Time." Add time-zone overlap explicit.
  10. Apply to first 3 jobs TODAY. Not tomorrow. Build the application muscle while the profile is still fresh.

  3. Take Customer Service test on OnlineJobs.ph. Score should be 80%+ given your background.
🎨 The Creative Specialist~15% · proceed ~70%

OnlineJobs.ph is secondary. Upwork + portfolio direct outreach are primary.

Do this week
  1. Still setup OnlineJobs.ph as secondary. Some Filipino agencies hire creatives there. Don't skip.
  2. Link portfolio in summary. "See work at [URL]" should be the most clickable item.
  3. Set higher salary expectation. Creatives undervalue on OnlineJobs.ph. Don't be the floor.

"E-commerce VA" or "Operations VA for SMEs" is the niche.

  1. Lead with business experience. "Operations + Marketing · ran a [type] business for [N] years · now VA-ing for similar SMEs."
  2. Apply to e-commerce / Shopify / Amazon FBA listings. Familiar territory = faster ramp.
  3. Mention tax + BIR knowledge. PH clients love VAs who understand local compliance.

Primary platform. Pick a wedge, apply systematically.

  2. Apply 5 jobs/day in your wedge. Volume + targeting.

First job platform. Important to do it right.

Do this week
  1. Complete ALL 9 sections. Don't skip. Incomplete profile = 0 views.
  2. Apply only to Newbie Friendly + No Calls filters. Don't reach for senior roles yet.
  3. Set realistic salary: ₱15K-₱20K/month start. A "₱50K" expectation as a Fresh Starter will not pass the filter.
