The one true thing a business has that competitors do not. The center of focused content.
"USP, USP. What is it really, in plain words?"
Plain words, coming up
The short answer: a unique selling point is the one real thing a business has that its competitors do not. Same kind of product, but yours is faster, or kinder, or has a feature no one else offers. That difference is the USP, and it matters because it is the reason a customer should choose this business over the others.
It matters to you, the content creator, even more. The USP is what every piece of content should circle back to. It belongs in the message framework and in every post. Without it, content is generic and forgettable. With it, every post quietly repeats the one reason to choose this business.
Ask: "Finish this sentence: unlike our competitors, we ____." If the business can finish it with something real and specific, that is the USP. If they cannot, the market is crowded and the content job is harder, which is useful to know early.
Hold steady, BFF Team. We keep going together.
